Why I do this work

In London, I had to go back to the visa office more than once.

  1. 2004Graduated from a university of foreign studies and joined a travel company, arranging group tours abroad
  2. 2009Transferred to the London branch, where I worked for three years
  3. 2012Returned to Japan
  4. 2014Passed the gyoseishoshi exam and joined a Tokyo firm specializing in visas
  5. 2016Opened this office in Monzen-nakacho and registered as an application agent
  6. 2026Ten years since opening

After university I worked for a travel company, arranging group tours abroad. From 2009 I spent three years at its London branch.

I renewed my own visa every time. I read the English guidance with a dictionary at my side, gathered the papers and went to the counter. More than once I was told something was missing and had to come back another day.

After returning to Japan I passed the gyoseishoshi exam and spent two years at a Tokyo firm that specializes in visas. I opened this office in Monzen-nakacho in 2016.

Every document checklist I send comes with explanations in English, because that is exactly what I wished I had at that counter in London.

Draft applications. Each sticky-note color stands for a different person who needs to check something.

When someone asks about permanent residency, the first thing we do together is check that their resident tax and pension were always paid on time.

A single missed payment can change the outcome. If we find it before you apply, there are still things we can do.

Family consultations often run past an hour.

That is why there are colored pencils and drawing paper next to my desk. On Saturdays, many clients come with their children.

Languages

Japanese
and English

I consult in Japanese or English. After a consultation in English, I write down the key points in Japanese as well, so that your Japanese family members get the same information.

If you are still learning Japanese, I can also speak in simple Japanese (yasashii nihongo). If you speak another language, please bring an interpreter with you.

The Oyokogawa River runs behind the office. In spring, people come to see the cherry blossoms along the river, and the walk from the station gets crowded.
